DESTINY ALEXANDRIA PENDARVIS:
Chief Executive Officer of: EGYPTIAN EYES

Destiny Pendarvis was born in Charleston, South Carolina and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. At a young age she had plenty of hobbies. Since her father was an active member of the navy he was strict and didn't believe that children should watch television during the school week. So, she invested most of her time playing the violin, singing, rapping, song writing, dancing, and decorating clothes. Believe it or not that is exactly how she began her career in the makeup industry. After she graduated high school in 2003 she began college at Chattahoochee Tech to major in business and was introduced to a woman that managed a R&B singing group.

Destiny auditioned and needless to say she joined the group as lead rapper which she later named "Kymystery". The group had a lot of street credit and started performing 4 to 5 times a week. Due to their limited budget they had to constantly reinvent themselves and that's when Destiny started literally playing in makeup. After a few weeks she realized she was a natural as she could look at a picture and duplicate it with a small twist.

Once the group broke up in 2005 (due to one member's pregnancy) Destiny started her solo Rap career and was known to most as "Black Barbee". She continued performing and at every show the fans gave her compliments on not only the music but, the makeup. By 2006 she began doing makeup for other people and charging rates. The flow of clients trickled in and most of her business was generated by word of mouth along with people seeing her with exotic looks every day. Soon people began to ask her where she got her eyelashes and color contacts from and that's when she went to sleep one night and woke up with the brilliant idea to create an online store where she could sell them. She named her company www.egyptianeyesmakeup.com in May of 2009. Since 2009 she has done several major events and a few are mentioned below:

  • Designers Battle @ Georgia World Congress Center for Hosea Feed The Hungry booked by Designer KL Allen C.E.O. of "Dymee Empire" 6 models November 13, 2009.
  • Designers Battle @ Georgia World Congress Center for Hosea Feed The Hungry (same event) booked by Designer Monique Winley C.E.O. of "House Of Style By Monique" for an additional 5 models. Destiny had to do makeup for 13 models in less than 2 hours.
  • "The Wardrick Report" booked January 19, 2009 by C.E.O Denocka Wardrick (print work).
  • "Hemp Hop Magazine" (The 14th Issue) artist interview by C.E.O Denocka Wardrick released March 6, 2009 (print work of Destiny Pendarvis A.K.A Black Barbee).

  • Candy, Sticky, & Sweet photo shoot booked April 12, 2010 by Zina Franklin & Shyne C.E.O.'s of "Shyne Photos" (print work)3 models.

Destiny is still a freelance makeup artist without any previous training from a professional institution or certified teacher however; she does plan on going to school for theatrical makeup.  What she loves most about makeup is the freedom because, there are no rules in makeup just creativity and expression.
